How to install WordPress with Softaculous
Like SimpleScripts, Softaculous allows multiple hosting companies to perform 1-click installs for WordPress. InMotion Hosting is one of the many companies that use Softaculous to install WordPress. When you log into your cpanel, look for an icon like this:
After clicking on the Softaculous icon, you will be directed to the Softaculous dashboard. On the left menu, you will see a list of software categories. Click on the “Blog” category and then select WordPress.
Now you will see the software briefo verview. Click on the blue “install” button to start the process.
The installation process will ask you to fill in some important information. The first thing you need to do is choose a domain name on which to install WordPress. After that select the directory you want WordPress to be installed on. If you want WordPress to be on your main domain, then you need to leave “Directory” blank. Next, enter a database name for your WordPress installation (nobody will see this, so you don’t have to be creative). Under database settings, you need to modify the table prefix to increase the security of your site. We recommend that you change the prefix wp_ standard for something like dbase_ or other
Then enter a name for your site description. Since this is a simple WordPress installation, there is no need to check Multisite (MPMU).
At the bottom of the page, you will see a screen to create your WordPress administrator account. Please don’t use the default “admin” username. Create something original and safe for your site. Also, don’t forget to create a strong password. Enter your best email and click a button install.
After you click the install button, in seconds WordPress will be installed and ready for you to use. All you need to do after that is access the address yourdomain.com/wp-admin and enter your login information to enter your WordPress dashboard.
