How to Install a Work Schedule on WordPress – When you run an online or offline business, writing down working hours is very important for your clients, by telling your business hours it will be easy for clients to contact you or come to your place of business. But how do you display working hours on a site built with WordPress?
In this article, I will show you how to install a working hour schedule on WordPress. There are 2 ways you can do it, namely by using a plugin and manually writing it on the text widget. But in this guide I will use a plugin which is the easiest way and doesn’t need to add code to enhance the appearance so that it looks neat on your WordPress site.
Install Hours of Work on WordPress
To install working hours on Wordrpess, the first thing you have to do is install and activate the plugin Business Opening Hours. If you don’t know how to install a WordPress plugin. You can see guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.
After the installation steps have been completed and you have activated it, there will be a new menu on your WordPress dashboard with the name “Work Hours“, Click on the menu to make plugin settings.
In the plugin’s settings page, you can start by selecting the timezone and time format for your working hours. The plugin offers two time formats that you can choose from such as 12 hours or 24 hours.
Under the Timezone and Format section, you can start to define your business hours for each day. Set each time field that is available, you will see a dropdown menu, where you can set the time according to your wishes. If your business is closed on certain days, select “Close”In the appropriate field or enter the text according to your preferences.
As shown in the following figure, this plugin also provides several options to set the style or design of the clock face. You can change the background color as well as the font color for today’s highlight if there is a need. After you have finished making the settings, please click “Save Changes“To save the changes you have made.
In order to display the working hours that you have created on your WordPress site, there are two options offered. You can display working hours on a widget and on your posts or pages.
1. Displays working hours in Post and Page
As you can see on the plugin’s settings page, there is a section called “Generated Shortcut“Just below the” sectionHighlight Current Day“. With this shortcut you can display your work schedule in posts or on pages by copying and pasting in posts or pages according to your wishes.
The trick is to simply open an existing post or create a new one and paste the code into the text area. Then, you can update (or publish) the post and see the hours worked already displayed on your site as shown below.
2. Displays working hours on the Widget
Apart from using shortcodes to display working hours on posts and pages, the plugin also allows you to display working hours on a sidebar menu on your WordPress site with a widget.
First, navigate to the menu Appearance »Widget on your dashboard. Then, drag and drop “Business Opening HoursWidget to the section of the available widget area. Enter the widget title and click the “Save” button when the settings are complete.
