To install age verification on WordPress, the first thing you need to do is install and activate the plugin Age Gate. For more details, see the step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

First, you must enter the minimum age required for verification. After that, you can choose whether you want to age verification restrictions on all or only the selected content.
The ‘Varied Age’ option allows you to choose different minimum age requirements for different posts and pages on your WordPress site.
For age verification, the plugin provides three options. You can display a form where users can enter their age, a drop-down box, or a “Yes or No” button.
You can also allow users to remember age verification or continue and enable the ‘Remember me’ option by default. This will keep your users from seeing the age verification message every time they visit your website.
When finished configuring the settings, go ahead and click the “Save Changes” button to save your configuration settings. You can now visit your website and see if your age gate feature is working properly. And if it works, it will look like the image below.
As seen in the image above, the Age verification screen by default has a very unattractive appearance. But don’t worry because you can still make it look more attractive, let’s see how to change it and make it look better.

The Age Gate plugin allows you to easily customize the appearance of the age verification screen and even enter certain messages of your own accord.

You can now visit your website again and see the age verification screen if it suits you. If not then you can adjust again.
If you are having trouble with your age verification screen page, then switch to the ‘Advanced’ tab on the plugin’s settings page.
You can also enable other advanced settings from this page such as Gutenberg support, add custom CSS rules, and enable anonymous age verification.
