Creating a Ticket Support System in WordPress
Now that you understand what a support ticketing system is, now follow this tutorial to add a support ticketing system to your WordPress. In this tutorial I will be using a plugin WP Support Plus Responsive Ticket Support.
Step 1: Install WP Support Plus Responsive Ticket Support
This plugin allows users to create a 100% responsive support ticket system on their WordPress site. You can collect all tickets and classify them into different categories. This plugin can also easily set the priority and status of each ticket. In addition, ticket submissions can be completed both through the frontend and backend.
Login to WP admin and install this plugin WP Support Plus Responsive Ticket Support. Once activated, the “Option Plus” menu will appear in your WordPress admin sidebar.
Step 2: Create a New Page or Post for the Ticket Support System
Create a new page or post via Pages / Post »Add New and give it a name. Here, I created a page called Support Ticket, and after that click Publish.
Step 3: Set Up Your Support Ticket System
Go to Support Plus »Settings. There are three tabs available for setting up the support ticketing system, including General, Categories and Email Notifications. Each tab contains a list of choices.
This tab covers the general settings for customizing the support ticketing system. You will be asked to specify a page or post that will be used to display the support ticketing system. Choose from from the drop-down list. Here, please select the page “Support Ticket“Which has been made before.
Shortcode [wp_support_plus] will be included in the selected page or post. Perhaps, you can enter this shortcode for any other page or post to display the support ticket.
If you want to display a support button on all pages, check the option “Enable Support Button”. Which helps visitors target the ticket support page quickly. Check the option “Enable Guest Ticket“To allow users without logged-in to submit tickets.
To help clients find answers effectively, it is necessary to create several categories to classify all the history tickers. Go to the Categories tab and type in the required category name. Click “Create New Categories“To create a new category. Create a category as you planned. You are allowed to edit or delete existing categories if needed.
This tab is where you specify whether to send an email to the administrator or agent when a new ticket is created or updated. Check options according to personal needs. Click the button “Save Settings“To confirm all changes.
Step 4: Create a New Ticket
Create as many new tickets as possible through Support Plus »Create New Tickets, this is in order to be a collection of tickets from clients or something that you want to publish on the website. Enter a subject and description for this new ticket. And then, put it in the appropriate category. Set the priority of this ticket and add an attachment to explain it in detail.
Click the button “Submit Ticket“. All tickets can be seen through Support Plus »Tikets.
Now take a look at the support ticket support system on the frontend of your WordPress site. It should look like the following example. There is a button “Support“Is displayed on every page of your site, which directs the visitor to the Support Ticket page. Visitors can search for a solution from the Ticket list or submit a new ticket to get a new answer.
