How to Create a Menu from a WooCommerce Product Category – WordPress is a very easy-to-use menu function, quickly creating custom menus and placing them in your theme’s menu area or even in a widgetized area with menu widgets. By default WordPress will add all your pages or pages to the default navigation menu. But you can customize the menu to your liking via the menu Appearance »Menus.
Actually I have made a complete menu guide in the previous article Complete Guide to WordPress Menus, but in this article I will specifically provide a guide on how to create a menu from the WooCommerce product category, of course this guide is intended for those of you who are creating an online store on WordPress with the WooCommerce plugin. Actually creating a menu from the WooCommerce product category is very easy, but there are still some users who have difficulty bringing up category products in the WordPress menu settings.
Added Product Categories
To add product categories to appear on your menu list, all you need to do is click the menu Screen options in the upper right corner. Then tick product categories so that your product category appears as a menu and appears in the menu list. Next, please create the menu you want according to your needs. Here’s a little explanation about the screen options in WordPress.
Screen Options is the menu button located in the upper right corner of some pages in the WordPress admin area. When clicked, the Screen options menu brings up several options that you can configure to display on certain pages in the admin area (Screen options allow you to show, hide, and customize sections of the admin screen). Usually contains checkboxes to show and hide different parts of the admin screen. The options screen also contains the option to select the number of items to be displayed on the admin screen, for example, by bringing up the product category menu as above.
Create a Drop Down Menu
After items are added to the menu, the menu items can be rearranged to create sub menu items. To add it to a menu, just drag and drop it, as shown in the animated image below. To create a drop down menu just drag the menu item slightly to the right of the above menu item to create a sub item.
You can also click the down arrow for settings to add more information, for example to add attributes to your menu.
Hopefully this article was useful for you and helped in creating a product category menu in WordPress for WooCommerce users. 🙂
