How to Like Dislike Button in WordPress Posts – If you want to find out whether the articles that you publish on the blog get a good or bad response on WordPress then you can see every comment from your visitors, but this will certainly take time because you have to read the comments one by one, and there are no definite reports about the response.
If you want to engage blog visitors to get responses and find out the right response to the articles you publish, then you can add the “Like and Dislike” feature in your comments column. By providing a like or dislike button, you can find out which articles are the most liked and disliked. This Like or dislike feature is not connected to the network social facebook, but it stands alone specifically for WordPress and you can see a report on the number of likes or dislikes through your WordPress dashboard admin page. It can even be placed on the most popular article widget getting votes like or the most recent one getting votes.
Facebook itself also features a like button when it first appeared, but along with the development of Facebook, the “like” button feature was added with several reactions such as (like, love, haha, wow, sad and angry) which was named the “Reactions” button. If you are interested in installing a facebook like reaction button on WordPress you can read my previous article: How to add a Facebook like reaction button in WordPress
In this article, I will provide a tutorial on how to add like and dislike buttons in WordPress comments.
How to install a WordPress like or dislike button:
In this tutorial I will provide two different plugins to add the “Like and Dislike” feature in WordPress comments, you can choose the one you like the most.
1. Plugins → Comments Like Dislike
The first thing you need to do is install and activate the plugin Comments Like Dislike. If you don’t know how to install a plugin, please read the article A complete guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.
After your plugin is activated, feel free to make settings in Comments »Comments Like Dislike.
First, you need to check the box next to the “Status” option to enable the like dislike feature on your WordPress site.
Next, you can specify the position where the like and dislike buttons will be displayed. You can display a button before or after each comment.
The next option allows you to choose whether you want to show buttons, just like or dislike buttons, or both.
Don’t forget to click on the “Save Settings” button to store your settings.
You can also choose a design and color for the button. You can select it in the ‘Design Settings’ tab on the plugin’s settings page to select a template.
By default, this plugin also includes thumbs up, heart, happy face, and true or false buttons, almost similar to the Facebook reaction button.
If you don’t like the icons that are already available, then you can choose a custom template to upload your own icons for the like and dislike buttons.
Don’t forget to click on the “Save Settings” button to store your changes. And here are the results of the Comments like dislike plugin.
2. Plugins → WTI Like Post
This second plugin is quite simple and this is the older plugin than the plugins above. Please feel free to download the plugin WTI Like Post and Install and then activate the plugin. After your plugin is activated, now do the settings on the plugin in the Settings »WTI Like Post menu and set it as below.
After you have finished making the settings as shown above, you can immediately see the like or dislike button under the post as below.
If you want to display the “Most Like Post” widget, please enter the widget menu, there are already 2 widgets, namely Most Liked Post and Recently Liked Post. Please drag and drop and drop it on the widget area you want.
