After previously I made an article that discussed the 5 best live chat plugins for WordPress, and because the best is Zopim, this time I will show you the Tutorial on How to Install Zopim Live Chat on WordPress.
In this tutorial, I will provide two ways to install Zopim Live Chat, namely by using a plugin and without using a plugin.
Install Zopim Live Chat no Plugins
All you have to do is visit the Zopim website here. and Register first by clicking the sign up button on the top right, you will be asked to enter your user name and email. and click “Sign up for Free Account“.
After that check your email, there will be a new email from Zopim and verify it. after that you will be taken to a page where you are asked to enter Password, Company name and number of employees. after that click the button Save and Go to Dashboard.
Now you are taken to the Zopim dashboard page, after that you are asked to complete the information and asked to copy the Zopim live chat embed script. Or you can take the script in the widget section.
After you copy the script, now you enter your WordPress admin and enter Appearance -> Widget, take the text widget and drag and drop it on the sidebar, then paste the zopim embed code, then save. and look at your WordPress site, there will be a Zopim live chat as below.
You can manage zopim live chat in zopim dashboard, you can change online status, live chat color, position, width and so on. See the picture below.
Install Zopim Live Chat with Plugin
To install zopim live chat with plugins, all you need to do is install zopim live chat, you can search in add new plugins by typing “Zopim Live Chat“, After you find it, install it and activate it, after that you will find a new zopim menu on the sidebar of your Dashboard.
- Account Setup: Used to register, and if you already have a zopim account you just need to enter your email and password to sync your site with zopim.
- Customize: Used to adjust zopim appearance, you can make many changes here.
- Dashboard: Used to enter the zopim Dashboard.
Overall, whether using plugins or not using plugins is the same, the difference when using plugins is that you don’t need to copy the embed code and don’t need to access the zopim site to log into the dashboard, you can log into the dashboard via your WordPress admin page.
If you don’t use a plugin you are required to log in to the zopim dashboard so that your livechat will appear online.
