How to install TeamViewer on Ubuntu 18.04 – TeamViewer is a cross-platform software that you can use for remote control between computers, sharing screens remote desktop, and transfer files between computers easily and smoothly. This software also supports other operating systems such as Windows, Mac, and Android.
TeamViewer is proprietary computer software and it is not included in the Ubuntu repositories, and if you frequently use TeamViewer to access and control your Ubuntu linux computer remotely then please follow this guide.
This tutorial explains how to install TeamViewer on Ubuntu 18.04. The same instructions apply for older versions of Ubuntu which are 16.04 and the distribution or linux distro other Debian based, including Debian, Linux Mint, and Elementary OS.

How to Install TeamViewer on Ubuntu
At the time of writing this article, the latest stable version of TeamViewer is version 14.0.12762.
Perform the following steps to install TeamViewer on your Ubuntu computer system:
1. Download TeamViewer
Open your terminal using a keyboard shortcut
Ctrl + Alt + T or by clicking the terminal icon.
Download the package
.deb Latest TeamViewer with command
$ wget https://download.teamviewer.com/download/linux/teamviewer_amd64.deb
2. Install TeamViewer on Ubuntu
Install the TeamViewer package
.deb by issuing the following command as a user with sudo privileges:
$ sudo apt install ./teamviewer_amd64.deb
When questions arise
Do you want to continue? [Y/n], type
Y to continue with the installation.
How to Get Started with TeamViewer
Now that TeamViewer has been installed on your Ubuntu system, you can open the TeamViewer software either from the command line by typing
teamviewer or by clicking on the TeamViewer icon which you can find in the menu (Activities -> TeamViewer):
When you start TeamViewer for the first time, a window similar to the following will be displayed. Accept the terms in the license agreement with the click of a button License Agreement.
TeamViewer will open and you will see a screen like this.
Congratulations, in this process you have installed TeamViewer on your Ubuntu desktop. You can now connect to your friend or client’s computer and provide immediate assistance remotely.
During the teamviewer installation process on Ubuntu, the official TeamViewer repository will be added to your Ubuntu linux system. You can use commands
cat to verify file contents:
$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/teamviewer.list
This ensures that your TeamViewer installation will update automatically when a new version is released via your standard desktop Software Update tool.
